Mylia House

The sand of Santa Teresa beach, Costa Rica, marks the boundary between the project and its surroundings. The sound of the waves is music of the place, a constant freedom that fuels the project with life, the people bring color to the scenes as they come and go, while the house stands by the sea, ready to amaze those who pass by.

With it`s views oriented towards the central courtyard pool and the beach at its main facade the house blends seamlessly into it’s environment without forgetting the pool that creates a delicate infinite effect that aligns perfectly with the horizon.

A composition of simple, horizontal volumes with black roofs and wooden accents frames the shared horizon between the house and the sea. The floor evoques the texture of white rocks, while small  gardens thrive within the walls creating a metaphor from the natural landscape of this compact, multi-functional home , embracing the connection between the sea and the sand,  an essence that defines the project.
