Brisas del Cabo House

Hidden in the mountains of Playa Mal País, Brisas del Cabo house is surrounded by the lush vegetation of Costa Rica ‘s tropical climate.

Its privileged location is used to create a single-level structure that opens to the view of the Pacific Ocean. All the spaces in the project are connected by a main corridor oriented towards this view, and they encompass the immediate atmosphere of the house with a central patio featuring an infinity pool.

From the entrance, the project frames the view within its design elements. The use of columns and beams creates this visual frame, highlighting the ocean in the background. The roof over the outdoor area marks this space as a key focal point, giving the project its primary value.

For this project, natural teak wood, along with the floor finish and bamboo cane ceilings in the social areas, provide the necessary elegance to give the house its unique style. Decorative elements and stone cladding are used to enhance the interior spaces, adding greater quality and sophistication.

The large eaves on the western side, in addition to creating a common outdoor area, help with solar control by preventing direct sunlight from entering the bedrooms. This allows the air to cool before entering the rooms, refreshing the interior and promoting proper natural ventilation.

The large window in the central space of the project is undoubtedly one of its richest design elements, as it connects all the important materials of the house, frames the view of the ocean and continuously joins the interior and exterior. The result is a project that undeniably evokes the tranquility and elegance of the undulating sea in the background.
