The hotel was designed following sustainability principles: respecting the existing trees on the land, taking advantage of the views and ocean breeze, and studying the sun’s trajectory to maximize natural light and minimize heat and direct sun exposure. It was built using locally sourced materials, including cultivated wood and some of the rooms are practically suspended over the hills.

The owners did the landscaping themselves, using native plants, so the rooms and common areas are surrounded by lush vegetation.
